Notice Of Data Event

On November 29, 2024, Brodsky Renehan Pearlstein & Bouquet Chartered (“BRPB”) became aware of suspicious activity affecting systems within our network. BRPB promptly responded and launched an investigation to confirm the nature and scope of the incident and restore impacted computer systems to operability. Through the investigation, BRPB learned that an unauthorized actor accessed or acquired certain files. Although BRPB has no evidence of any misuse or fraud in connection with this incident, BRPB is notifying those individuals whose information was contained within the files accessed or acquired. The information varied by individual but included the following types of information: social security numbers,  driver’s license numbers, medical information, financial account information, and health insurance information.

Individuals who have questions should contact BRPB’s dedicated call center at 1-800-939-4170 Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern Time. BRPB takes this incident very seriously and sincerely regrets any inconvenience or concern this incident may cause individuals.

BRPB encourages potentially impacted individuals to remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud, to review account statements, and to monitor their credit reports and explanation of benefits forms for suspicious activity. BRPB is providing potentially impacted individuals with contact information for the three major credit reporting agencies, as well as providing advice on how to obtain free credit reports and how to place fraud alerts and security freezes on their credit files. Should an individual wish to place a  fraud alert or credit freeze, they may contact the three major credit reporting bureaus listed below:

Individuals may further educate themselves regarding identity theft, fraud alerts, credit freezes, and the steps they can take to protect their personal information by contacting the consumer reporting bureaus, the  Federal Trade Commission, or their state Attorney General. The Federal Trade Commission may be reached at: 600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20580; IdentityTheft.gov; 1-877-ID-THEFT (1- 877-438-4338); and TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The Federal Trade Commission also encourages those who discover that their information has been misused to file a complaint with them. Individuals can obtain further information on how to file such a complaint by way of the contact information listed above.  Individuals have the right to file a police report if they ever experience identity theft or fraud. Please note that in order to file a report with law enforcement for identity theft, the individual will likely need to provide some proof that they have been a victim. Instances of known or suspected identity theft should also be reported to law enforcement and the state Attorney General. This notice has not been delayed by law enforcement.

Potentially impacted individuals may also find information regarding identity theft, fraud alerts, security freezes, and the steps they may take to protect their information by contacting the credit bureaus, the Federal  Trade Commission, or their state Attorney General.
